On April 23rd, 2024, the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce Legislative Action Committee hosted a roundtable with Congresswoman Young Kim at Tailored Space in Chino Hills. The discussion involved members of the community, ranging from public safety officials, business owners, to residents.
The conversation was moderated by CEO/President of the Chino Valley Chamber, Zeb Welborn, and began with the Congresswoman sharing her stories of traveling overseas and navigating complex international relationships. Furthermore, she discussed issues surrounding financial literacy, as she serves on the Bipartisan Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus and the House Financial Services Committee. “The earlier people learn about the financial tools that are available, the faster they can build their wealth,” emphasized the Congresswoman on the importance of educating the public on financial health. Additionally, the Congresswoman has focused on public safety for small businesses by introducing H.R. 316, the Improving the Federal Response to Organized Retail Crime Act of 2023. She also secured funding, approximately $1.5 million, for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Body Camera and Taser Equipment.
Businesses had the opportunity to share with the Congresswoman some of the issues they face in the business community, and the event ended with a group photo.
